Listen to this video. I'm sure many people here have heard this band already but I just found them today. I think the producer was too attached to his bass tone, this is ridiculous hahaha.

Hard to comment based on the shitty youtube compression, but it's definitely an interesting mix. That's the most present bass I think I've ever heard.

how the fuck many more records are going to come out with this EXACT, NEVER ENDING CLONE MIX 'style'.

FUCK ME!

Every new band I check out, if I didn't know any better, I'd think the same person did 90% of these records because EVERYONESSSS drums are all chango'd out now (no offense, it's HIS sound and for that, I love it for HIS STUFF) programmed bass almost always, some type of podfarm and lots of really 'clever' production efx (which are getting olddddddddd now. i swear if i hear one more reverse snare ill fucking die).

not knocking on whoever did this record or anyone is particular because yeah, it sounds pretty GOOD, but you sound like EVERY. OTHER. 'metal producer' out there (aside from the usual suspects).

i'm sorry for the rant but this has been on my mind for a longgggggggggggg time.

Sounds like the audio got uploaded to mono. Pretty generic mix regardless.

Definitely programmed bass.

FWIW, I also thought it sounded really changoish, cause it reminded me of the memphis may fire mixes (pretty much the only chango produced band I listen to). Judging from wikipedia he seemed to have produced the band in OT

Have a look through it, maybe most of the stuff you heared REALLY was made by the same guy ;)

I also think the bass sounds programmed btw

i guess these guys don't know that there's more than one note you can play on a guitar. why can't bands like this just stop spawning?

The bass def sounded good. Sounds to me like the band kept pushing for a really brutal and forward sounding bass thump and the engineer got pissed off and as a final f*** you to the band, gave them exactly what they wanted. I find it hard to believe that someone so skilled at getting a pro level bass tone could fuck up an issue of mix balance like that if it were anything other than spite.

And now in stereo (still shitty youtube quality though):

The bass is a bit less prominent in stereo but still, programmed as fuck bass. Don't care much for the tone, the grit is a bit distracting.

Let's agree to disagree. To me it sounds embarrassingly fake. They should have just filmed a bunch of kids HC dancing in front of a stage with a PC in the middle of it.

I mean I can definitely tell it's a sample, don't get me wrong, but tonally it seems present in the right areas to fit the mix. Of course it sounds stupid and overdone, it's a stupid and overdone genre...

I'll post a clip later of the kind of bass tone I go for usually.

Everything about this makes me want to go listen to Tom Petty, and never look for a new metal band again. Fuck this is getting old.

Agree with CJ.
