Evergrey = Awsume

Their other album, Solitude-Dominance-Tragedy and The Dark Discovery are darker and heavier than their newest effort, In Search Of Truth. ISOT has a more prog approach at times...their first two albums are better in my opinion. Listen to S-D-T and see what I mean. It is my favorite album ever released.

I agree.

In Search of Truth was by far my favourite album of 2001 and it's easily my favourite Evergrey! Highly recommended to anyone who likes dark prog metal!

Their debut album The Dark Discovery has less progressive overtones, and is more of a straightforward album. Note that it was written only after a month and a half after the band was formed and recorded 6 months later. Therefore it's not as polished and as, say, 'professional' as its follow-ups.

Solitude*Dominance*Tragedy was the first Evergrey CD I got, and the opening song "Solitude Within" is the best album opener Evergrey has, IMO. After listening to this one, I became an Evergrey fan. This is more of a transition album from the utterly dark metal style to the more prog-oriented style.

I personally think if you like ISOT, you'll definitely love SDT as well. The first one is good too, but it's different.

I have a few friends that heard the new Evergrey. Tom gave them a rough copy of Recreation Day on PP4 and they said it's heavier and darker. I can't wait!

Draconian Demon pointed Evergrey out to me, and from what I've heard, I'm very impressed. I'll definitely be picking up their albums... when I can afford it. Bloody Christmas. Humbug!

Yes, I heard the new album at ProgPower, and it sounded really, really good. I can't wait for it to be released! There was a bit more variety in it, including acoustic guitars.

Get Solitude-Dominance-Tragedy if you can find it over there in England! You cannot find it anywhere here in stores...but of course I ordered it over the vast internet.
