EVERGREY & NAGLFAR: Interviews

Thing is, a long-time friend of mine actually knows Marcus and most of Naglfar pretty well. See, metal people in Umeå tend to all know each other, or at least know who most others are or be distantly connected to them in some way... The guy who was in Nasheim to do a bit of drums in Nasheim before we realized it wouldn't work out is now in Umeå band Embracing, whose vocalist did drums on the first Naglfar album, which has members who know the guy I know, for whose band Leafall I did the demo cover/layout... Etc. Hu hu hu.
I went to school with a guy named Erik. I bet you know him.:tickled:

Mattias Holmgren of Embracing played drums on "Vittra" when he was only 14 (16?) but wasn't credited as an actual member. Read the liner notes and find out though.

Laughing heavily at the Star Trek groupies and Swedish porn...great interview.

The interview with Henrik was just great. I was just laughing my arse off when he mentioned the corn-fed sausage.

It kind of makes up for the usual arse questions like 'When did you get the urge to play the guitar' - arse wipe question.

Yeah we need get you to interview some white supremacist nazi band member - that would be hilarious. Seriously, we should set up an interview between you and Thor's Hammer. (see the thread about funny album covers for that 'fate worse than death' image - they now have a second version with a black hand shaking a white hand!!!). That alone warrants a chat. :loco: Obviously, the topic of music is irrelevant. :tickled:

August 28th - the night before my birthday *cough* at L'Amours in NY:

ARCH ENEMY
HATE ETERNAL
EVERGREY
BLACK DHALIA MURDERS
& more.

Not bad not bad....

Does anyone here like these guys? They're a local band here and I personally can't stand them. I know they have been getting a big push from Metal Blade, but I haven't really heard anyone's opinion outside of the Detroit area.

I think one of us on the team have the promo....if so, expect a review at some point.

Well, I didn't handle the review, but I'll be quite honest in saying that I was completely surprised by the quality of the debut. Who would have thought that 5 hardcore kids from Detroit would churn out a worthy At The Gates/Dissection clone? Original? Nah. Good? Yeah.
