EVH 5150iii mini VS Peavey 6505

With the Peavey, after you turn it up past 3 or 4, it squashes and gets really compressed. Does the 100 watt EVH stay more open and dynamic at higher volumes?

Why would you ever need an amp louder than a 5150 on '3'? You're already losing hearing well before that.

Just curious. There have been a handful of gigs over the years with a less than adequate PA system, so knowing I have the option is always nice....even though it'll probably never be used. It's like that tiny, hooked, claw thing on a Swiss Army Knife. Who knows what the hell it is, but maybe you'll need it someday.

To me it's mostly novelty of it being different more than one being better. For cleans sure I will suceed to fender but for dirt I think both sound good from clips I have heard.
