I won't compare but just say Opeth is better. Extol hardly even sounds like Opeth at all. I'm sure a better thread could have been started for a "VS".

There are some elements of Opeth in Extols new album though... but I can't quite seem to put my finger on what that quality is......

Or is it meant to be the other way around?

I love how technical the riffs are on the new Extol album, "Synergy." Some of the arrangements need some work though

Extol aren't really close to Opeth i think, but The Provenance yes, and the band Novembre from Italy.
