Ebonics aside, it's what the proverbial They are doing to this country, bit by bit. The frog in the slowly heated up kettle as it were. Not that I ever held great hope in the Democrats, but I did expect a little more than pandering to the left while following the same path laid out by the right over the past 6 years.

Deprived of historical knowledge by an impoverished educational system designed to produce complacent consumers, not thoughtful citizens, and left ignorant of current events by a media devoted solely to profit, many will internalize the force-fed values of the ruling elite, and act accordingly. There will be little need for overt methods of control.

Bingo. Education in this country is shit. The only lesson about Columbus I learned is how everyone sat around the turkey tree on Thanksgiving Eve and played nice with the Injuns. I very rarely watch television, let alone mainstream news channels, but it is absolutely astounding how bad the media has gotten when it comes to, well, pretty much anything. Even allegedly liberal sources like MSNBC constantly blather on about Support The Troops and "well clearly, Saddam was connected to 9/11, no doubt" and other Go Back To Sleep, America tactics. It's disgusting.
