Favorite Agalloch song

yet, if i were introducing agalloch to someone i'd show them 'desolation song"

I wouldn't..again. The first song my boyfriend heard by them was A Desolation Song and he thought it was the most boring shit ever and refused to listen to any more.

If I were to pick a favorite it would probably be And the Great Cold Death of the Earth.

This thread isn't bad. Basically everyone has heard Agalloch.

HAH! I haven't!

I noticed in another forum some people made a thread about recieving their album in the mail and they were all spunking all over the place because they got the super special box with stuff in it and it was suposedly awesome. What genre is it?

They're hard to pin down into one genre, but depending on the album they have influences ranging from Doom/Black/Folk metal, neo-folk, and post-rock.

Go there and sample a song or two. Genres don't work incredibly well with describing them, elements of all of them are present surely (depending on the album and of course song) but it all works and meshes together perfectly.

Odal should be listened to in context of the entire album, The Mantle. I find it only listenable when listening to the entire album honestly, because it flows very well.

Dead Winter Days, well I can't say much about it I love it but if you don't like it oh well :p

Not Unlike The Waves though, killer song :)

Agalloch is fine. I just think Favorite_____song threads are crappy, and pointless.

What's with the Agalloch hype?

I don't get it either. I don't mind some of the music but the clean vocals ruin everything. I would rather just listen too a european band.
