I never really understood the Awake album, but I've begun listening to it again recently... And it's awesome. I'm starting to wonder why Space-Dye Vest hasn't been mentioned even once in this thread until now.

Well I was unsure when it came to Voices of the Dead, but I dunno why Everytime I Die couldn't be considered a ballad.

Because it has syncopated palm-muting riffs, harsh vocals, double bass drumming, and more or less every other element of melodic extreme metal and none of the elements of a ballad?
