Augury is another tech death band worth mentioning. Probably my favorite band to come out of the whole Canadian tech death scene.

Not just Kataklysm. There's a really vibrant tech death scene there. Just look through Galy Records' roster for all kinds of great Canadian metal bands.
But with that said, I do prefer the 80's Canadian thrash/speed metal scene. Sacrifice is one of my favorite thrash bands, ever. They are going to record a new album, and I already heard a demo of one of the songs, Hiroshima. I have very high hopes.
