My favorite band is probably the one that results when I put the ex-members of Carcass in a room with the current members of Nile and have them fight to the death. I'm going with Nile, since their bassist has arms like Roman pillars, and as far as I know the Carcass guys were pretty weedy.

Morbid Angel, Death, Necrophagist, Nile, Behemoth, old Entombed, Suffocation, Cryptopsy (spelling), Cephallic Carnage, and most important Gojira, but they are more death/thrash rather than just death metal. Also Gojira>you and your mom

i just hate their vocals, sounds less like a person doing deathmetal vocals than a troll grunting. same thing with behemoth but in a different way. i love them musicaly but i hate their vocals.

I used to quite like Death Metal, but I find it really difficult going to listen to anything from the genre unless it's genuinely, mindblowingly exceptional.

I like Death and Morbid Angel, Bolt Thrower, Obituary, Deicide, At The Gates, Nile, Necrophagist, Decapitated, Vader, Quo Vadis, Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse. I'll rarely pick up a death metal record (or download one, for that matter) unless someone recommends a certain band.
