Death metal vocals exist. Case in point the a capella song Hymns of Sanctity by Jared Anderson. There's no instruments but it's unquestionably a Death Metal song.

The whole argument was that just because a band has death metal vocals doesn't mean that the band actually plays death metal (I think the band was Wintersun or some other gay band)
