Bear, I didn't vote ... My favorite genre is really a mix of the prog and power genre ... Progressive Power Metal. Evergrey, Vanden Plas, and Pagan's Mind are all bands that might fit that category. If I had to vote based on your choices I would go with Power Metal.

Progressive metal for me. Dream Theater and Fates Warning started the process. Labyrinth and Angra secured this whole craziness for me. But I gotta say, I've been listening to a lot of melodic death metal lately. Of course, there wasn't a thrash option...

i went with power and melodic death because as far as i know, there are more bands i like under them. although, ive pretty much lost track of most genre's and what they really are, cos people use them for way to many things now...they cover too much. for example ive heard guardian, sonata, dream evil, nocturnal rites, and finntroll all called powermetal. so really i have absolutely no idea. but BG is power metal, and there isnt a NWOBHM category, so PM it is.
