were motorhead NWOBHM?

id say YES. formed in 75, thats within the time period of a band of that movement. they certainly were not the 1st wave (purple, heep, sabbath). diamondhead, maiden were formed in 76 themselves and fall under the new wave banner and thats only 1 year removed from motorheads formation. and considering motorheads touring mates back in those days were pretty much exclusively NWOBHM bands, that made them certainly a part of that "scene". Anyhow, its up to the listener to decide what umbrella Motorhead fall under, Lemmy himself denies they were "Heavy Metal" and refers to the band as "Rock n Roll", he has also said that he considered "Venom" a bit of a joke and dont consider themselves as the same ilk as conrad and company.regardless........ of the bands listed , i picked the brilliant and diverse "Holocaust". but currently , Savage - Loose n Lethal is my fave slab of NWOBHM..

cheers

Too hard to decide, but some that are important to me are Angel Witch, Diamond Head, Legend, Satan, Jaguar & Maiden offcourse.

Yeah so many trendies in here :p

Querido, you trying to start something here? :err:
Last time I checked IM is not playing the local radios, never have, never will :p

They are huge, because THEY ARE GODS OF METAL :headbang:

Here it does or it was pretty common on rock radio when they were good :heh: .

Now flying daggers jokes aparts I didn't voted for Maiden or Saxon (to me the best and most enduring TRUE band from the NWOBHM) for exactly that reason: endure.
They have expanded beyond the NWOBHM sound throughout the years, it's kind of unfair to compare them with bands that had a brief light before dim into oblivion or become cult because of a single album or song. Dunno my $0.03 reasoning on the subject.
