Quarantine sucked ass monkey fucking BALLS! When they switched to nightvision at the end of the movie, I knew right away based on the previews I saw and the fucking COVER art what was going to happen. I may a bit more upset than I should be about that, but most of the movie was so damned predictable for me that I could hardly pay attention. Have not seen REC though, so I'm hoping it's better somehow.
Drag Me To Hell was a bit hokey, but it's more than I expected out of Raimi after all this time, and I was quite pleased. Like Warrel said, no sunshine up your ass bullshit ending. I loved the ending just because of that.
Zombieland is by far the best horror/comedy type thing I've seen since Shaun of the Dead, and I just watched both of those last night (Zland for the first time finally).
Saw VI is completely out of the question for me, as was Saw III, IV, and V. Same with both Hostel's. Those movies just don't grab me at all, they seem like they go nowhere as the methods of killing (which I will give you are very clever and fun) are the focal point and the plot line takes a back seat. If I wanna watch a movie for individual scenes and not a plotline, I'll watch a porno.
Haven't seen The Box yet, but the premise of it really intrigues me. May have to wait for a DVD release, but I will certainly watch that one.
Incidentally, I watched Tetsuo: The Iron Man for the first time ever last month and I really don't understand all the hype. I can't consider something that random and trite even a cult classic. I think I got 15min into it and it turned into background noise for reading a book. Caught snippets of it every once in a while but couldn't pay attention to it. You know it's bad when you can watch only a fractured partial of the movie and still understand everything going on. The book was far more entertaining (Dreamweaver, only on chapter 3 though)
