Surprised no one mentioned Jorn Viggo Lofstat (Pagans Mind/Jorn Lande) He is a really tasteful player. Plenty of technical chops to tease the guitarist, but also a great feel for note selection/emotics/composition.

I totally agree. I was about to throw Diamond Darrell in but you beat me to it. Pantera's music from that era was also much better (up to Vulgar Display of Power).

Diamond/Dimebag whatever man, He kicks ass, kicked ass and will always kick ass. He was metal from beginning to the end, died doing what he loved to do. He never made a bad song,and wrote some of the best licks ever. Unlike a lot of guitarists, he was always evolving and experimenting with different things to keep it fresh and real, and always badass. if ony Zack was 1/10th as good as dime when he was 18...
