Buy a Pan Flute Moods-album, or something by Richard Clayderman.
Listen to that more or less constantly for two weeks.
This process will make you hate music so much that you'll probably consider throwing your stereo out the window by the end of it.
(In addition, it might make you convinced that you are living in an elevator).
When the two weeks are done, you sink into a nice comfy chair, open a can of lager and play your favourite album of all time. It will make you fall in love with music all over again.
I lost the love for thrash and speed metal awhile back, just didn't hold interest for me. I do find myself listening to other genres and enjoying it. Newest bands I am into are Children of Bodom, Bullet for my valentine, and Slipknot.
I had the exact same thing about a year ago - a real disinterest in listening to all the bands I love. I just listened to medieval music on Last FM for a while and eventually got right back into it all again.
i listen to all kinds of stuff but sometimes i'm not in the mood to listen to anything or i just don't know which cd to put in. years ago i used to close my eyes and take a random cd of the shelf, i always took a good one.
if i ever lose my love for music i will listen to this:
