female vocals

Liv Kristine: Leaves' Eyes 'lovelorn', Theatre of Tragedy 'velvet darkness they fear'

Anneke Van Giersbergen: The Gathering 'mandylion','nighttime birds'

I like christina scabbia but do not like a lot of lacuna coil songs because the band.

which era sounded more interesting to you?

i'll go ahead and recommend "if_then_else" first anyways, since i've been paying attention to your posts on the forum and i can easily say you are open-minded. i started with that album and have loved that band ever since. you can go for "how to measure a planet" or "souvenirs" too, no problem. come back here to post your opinion, too, though. cheers

my favourite one is by far Agnete M. Kierkevaag from MADDER MORTEM

other fine female vocalists:

Emma Hellström (The Provenance)
Synne Soprana (In The Woods...)
Shlomit Levi (Orphaned Land)
Maja Konarska (Moonlight)
Vibeke Stene (Tristania)

okay. what cd should I go for?

souvenirs and sleepy buildings (a semi-acoustic evening) are spectacular. if-ten-else is good, but not as much as these or how to measure a planet. mandylion and nighttime birds are more metal than these and have some real great songs on them. the new album home has some awesome songs but also some pretty weak ones.

Fav's of the past decade for me are

Sarah Brightman - Perhaps my favorite vocalist male or female
Alicia Keys - So much emotion in her voice
Sarah McLachlan - Great Texture & Sound
Christina Aguilera - Amazing such a small girl has such an enormous voice
Gwen Stefani - Not a top notch vocalist, but I really enjoy the sound of her voice
