Nice call on Ann Wilson, NFU. Forgot about her...

Grace Slick was pretty damn good in the Jefferson Airplane days.

I pretty much hate the whole "Beauty & the Beast" genre (Tristania, Penumbra, etc.), as someone put it here once. I tried it, I didn't like it, nosirree. Also, not big on the thin-sounding operatic vocals I've heard... I can't cite specifics, as I stopped paying attention as soon as the vocals began. I actually prefer Mangela to that. I think I just kind of don't like female vox in metal so much. Weird, seeing as how my band in college always had a female lead singer... :erk:

Shit, I forgot Dusty Springfield and Aretha Franklin. That's a fucking crime. I'm not actually familiar enough with Carole King (yes I know, noob central) to pass proper comment, but I think I'll check her and Ann Wilson out...

I need to hear more music...

Sigrid Sheie and Jamie Myers on Hammers of Misfortune's "The August Engine"!

Geez, I forgot about Hammers of Misfortune! I might like the stuff on the Unholy Cadaver EP and The Bastard best (Janis Tanaka).

Jamie Myers is also on Wolves in the Throne Room.
