Yeah I own a ESP with the red glitter color, looked good in photos but is very ugly in person. Wish I would have gone with the see thru black.....

Exactly - I can't even get decent photos of it, it always looks like it's been cut n' pasted on afterwards. Also my bass player refers to it as my 'period', which makes me want to injure him quite a lot.

I decided to make some changes to my main guitar recently.

the natural is better.....I redid my Ibanez last summer and I have no knowledge to what I was doing...came out pretty good. If you want to remove that paint, use "airplane stripper" from walmart...it does wonders.

Did you finish it with tung oil? Looks good....

Whelp I had the urge to customize the paint job on my Ibanez MMM1 after seeing another member of this board do the same thing (thanks for the idea ApolloSpeed).

sorry it didn't work like ya wanted, I used Lowes stain and some kinda Matte in a spray can type clearcoat......works prettygood for me.
I've had it for what, nearly a year, nearly 80 shows, 30-40 practices, and a full-length album.....and it is just now starting to get pickmarks knocking off some color.

I love that ^^, it turned out great considering the wood I found under some of the Ibanez paint jobs I've removed in the past.
Thanks man

Tung oil....nah, I just used the airplane stripper, then I sanded it down by hand using lesser grit each time I sanded til I got it to what I wanted it to look like, (ithe wood was light colored Mahogany) then I took the bare wood and applied Lemon Oil with a rag....that's where the dark color came in on the grain...I also use the lemon oil on my fretboard betweeen string changes.
