First Concert

Well when I was aobut 3 or so I saw the Beach Boys, but I don't remember that at all! :D
The first concert I remember was ZZ Top when I was like 10. Haha don't I have such great concert visits? :p

My first concert would have been Megadeth, but they were touring with Aerosmith, and canceled because they didn't get along. So I had to wai almost a year, and then I got to see Sepultura, Fear Factory and Clutch. I was fourteen, and flew down to Vancouver on my own... but I hooked up with a cousin for the concert. Then we went down to see more on Seymour, what used to be the hangout for trannies and whores. Ahh, those were the days.

My first show was In Flames, Nevermore, and Shadows Fall, kicked ass, special because it's what really got me into Nevermore and realize their brilliance, and they have since become my favorite band

My second show was just last month, Nevermore and Savatage, kicked ass, especially since I got to talk to Warrel for a couple minutes

My third show will probaby be Dec. 2, you'll never guess who.....Nevermore! with Overkill, which will probably kick ass

can ya tell I'm a Nevermore fan? heh

The only bad thing is that my second show should've been Nevermore and Opeth! last May i think...but they cancelled the Cleveland show like a week before. That would have been the ultimate show for me...my 2 favorite bands at 1 show

I recollect that Emerson, Lake and Palmer was my 1st concert - way back in the day.

And it was awesome - I always thought Keith Emerson was the most underrated keyboardist of his time - and he ruled in concert.

Well, my first concert was New Kids on the Block. My second was Paula Abdul. Throw in some New Edition, and there you have it -- my elementary school years! my tastes have evolved a bit since then.

Funny story -- I wore this horrendous sequined VEST to the NKOTB concert. We were late (Dino was opening! Remember him?) and it was dark inside when we were going to our seats. So I'm running down those arena stairs in the dark trying to keep up with my friend. And my feet got all jumbled up, and I fell. As if that wasn't bad enough, everyone thought it would be funny to throw gum at the loser girl in the sequined vest! So I had wads of gum in my hair and on my back. :waah:

My first one had a pretty intense line-up:

Sven Gali(kicked ass!!!)
Ugly Kid Joe (pretty cool)
Def Leppard (okay)
Meatloaf(first time hearing him, was impressed)
April Wine

and some others I can't remember. It was an outdoor, all day show. Sven Gali was on first, and they were the only ones I wanted to see (though UKJ were cool). I had only just gotten into a bit of heavy metal at that time.

My first concert was when I performed with my band. The atmosphere was great.

NP: Shakti - A Handful of Beauty

Rockwave '97

Featuring:

Dark Nova
Rotting Christ
Grip INC.
Bruce Dickinson & Adrian Smith
MegadetH

(in order of appearance)

MegadetH kicked some major butts back there :) that was special enough..

Motorpsycho at a small venue here in Stavanger. "It rocked" doesn't do the concert justice. They played a 2 and a half hour set of the best progressive rock (not metal at all) ever created by man.

My first "serious" concert was Iced Earth back in November '97

Before that I was only going to small gigs from local youth bands, like Firestorm.... hmmmm actually there is no point in mentioning names :p

Hmm...the first 'real' concert I went to was in '97 when Metallica played a promo-gig at a rather small venue here in Hamburg to 'celebrate' the release of Shitload. Just a few hundred tickets were sold freely, the large part went off to VIPs, so I was quite lucky and hoped they'd dig up some old stuff. Fortunately I wasn't disappointed

Mick Ronson and Ian Hunter at the Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh Pa. I was only about 11 years old...Mott the Hoople just broke up about a year earlier. I didn't know what reefer was at that time and when the lights went low and I seen all the lighters lighting up, I thought...

damn their are alot of cigarette smokers here.

Anyway...it was a good show. Others I have seen...

Jethro Tull
ZZ Top
Aerosmith
Blue Oyster Cult
Yes
ACDC
Triumph
Rush (many times...their first American concert included)
Van Halen
Black Sabbath (my personal favorite back then)
Ted Nugent
Journey
Boston
UFO
Deep Purple (but without Ian Gillian :( )

so many more...
