Found these tracks in the forums posted by Reneisgod, and thought the tune and band were beastly, so I tried my hand at mixing it. No extra samples or reamps or anything, just the stuff that came in the initial post, plus some IRs from ahjteam (the Finnvox IRs and I think the .5sec plate verb. Thanks, Anssi!).

The pause in the guitars is what I obviously see as needing work. Plus I'm having issues getting the amount of punch that I want. And do I mix too quietly?

Any other glaring flaws in it?

Thanks for any feedback! I love this place, and the people in it! :)

EDIT: Link fixed! First time using Dropbox too :P

I mixed this song a few months back. Here's how I got it sounding: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19579590/Culloden Moor - CLARK KENT MIX.mp3

Basically your mix has a few weaknesses. First of all your guitars start four bars too early! :D Those synths are taking all the space from other insturments. They are not important. Low cut them. Put EQ and compression on everything and know what to do. If I had to tell you what exactly.... it would take me a day to tell you.

Ah. The guitars were left as they came from the initial download. I heard they were early in another mix but I thought it was supposed to start like that. The bass didn't seem to mind either. I guess that's where that weird split comes from!

I also read that the synths were quite important, but I see where they need to have an HPF. I've put some space in all them for vocals. I'll analyze everything and see if I can make them fit better. I brought the overheads, snare, and guitars up a bit because I thought they weren't as prominent as they could be, plus I EQed the kick some more. I'll work on those guitars next...

Thanks!
