It has a certain aesthetic beauty to it... most of the year, the numbers go in ascending order... or at least they used to... Now it only happens if you write out the full year.

How then can you explain that the month should be written before the day? And then the year afterwards. That's no logical order. The day is the smallest unit, then comes the month and then the year. If you want to go the other way, that would be fine, too. But swapping day and month, that's chaotic.

So, where were you born then?
