Just came from food store and started eating some fresh, American apples until I saw this:

I mean WTF??? Almost puked when I saw that. WTF is that? Gene manipulated apple? :puke:

Apples don't have "heart" like that... I took the pic with cellphone camera and it actually looks worse IRL it's dark brown. It seems to be rotten quite badly while on the outside it's fine.

that has nothing to do with gene-manipulated, it may got infected while growing or something
like that. There are loads of apple trees here and when you get yourself fresh apples from the
trees it looks like that some times.
Sometimes it's a little worm (you probably won't find a hole in the apple anywhere) or a little
piece of dirt got into the apple while it was growing, due to that, the apple may start to rot
from the inside after sometime.

You should interpret stuff like that in another way, the chance is probably higher that the apples
weren't sprayed with pesticides or stuff like that that my help to get "better looking" apples, but
may hurt your health.
pesticides

Fwiw I only by imported apples when I go shopping. I don't by our apples.
Please don't be too lazy to write buy ;)

man i know what you are talking about, i almost do not eat any fruits anymore since i experienced shit like that.
i also had mangeos that were completely BLACK inside, pears with the same rotten heart as your apple and grapes i could easily watch rotting.
these turned from hard and green into soft/slimy and brown within a few hours...*uhg!*

I'm baffled by the notion that people think a GMO pesticide doused piece of fruit for the retail market would look less perfect than a "real" organic piece of fruit. I can only assume none of you have ever had a fruit tree in your yard or your own vegetable garden.

My parents have apple trees in their back yard that were given to my brother and I when we were really young.

I wouldn't eat one of those apples. They barely even get big or red and always look all weird, but I guess that's just nature.

WTF? A brown smelly stuff just came out of my butt hole. Too bad I don't have my camera with me.

Hahahah you guys are funny. It definitely looks like some farmer Joe from Louisiana farted smelly stuff inside the apple while it was still growing. :erk:

They were the fucking most expensive apples in the store.

It's just something that has grown on a tree, if you get yourself a bread at a bakery and it looks like this on the inside,
something went really wrong and it shouldn't happen. But not every apple is great, and sometimes the ones that look
like shit on the outside taste awesome.

I think I haven't bought apples at a store in the last 5 years, most of them directly from a guy who has a few trees
in his garden, the rest were picked by myself.

I once worked in a fruit orchard. This apple has turned to shit, that is all. It's more common that you think. Some apple varieties have these issues more than others.

Dam them hillbillies tricked me with them snake oil mullet apples! :bah:

I live in the cold North and we only have our own apples for about a month each year so we have to rely on import stuff most of the time. The apple is "USA Golden" the French variation of Golden is what's most sold here and it's more green in color.
