Fresh American Apples

It's a fruit; sometimes they go bad. What does this have to do with them being American, and why is it a big deal in the first place?

I thought it went without saying, but yeah, there is some absolutely amazing produce grown in the US-- one experience with one bad apple notwithstanding.

I've found apples like that off the tree (like I pulled them off and found that).

It's super rare. I never got around to asking the orchard what it was.

Well in these instances you just have to look at the core humor in it and let the joke take seed. Sometimes the moment is ripe and you want to capitalise in on the fruit of your labors immediately but picking the right pun can sometimes leave you branching out between two different extremes - apples and oranges.

At the end of the day though I think the line you're looking for is that because we're all bad apples all we really want to do is tickle his Granny Smiths Pink Lady with our Cox.
