Front Railing Gold Badge Only?

Never really had a problem getting close either. The crowd changes for each band except for a few people up on the rail. The hardest part is usually navigating the stairs and the people standing on them to get down to the floor once a band starts! It's tougher to get close when the headliners are up on stage though.

I've found that it's totally cool to be three or five people back, cuz then you get to see their hands and heads during the show. When you're right at the rail, yeah, you get great camera shots, but it seems like the crowd reaction is hidden behind me. Hehheh.

I'd say that can be a good thing sometimes - if you LOOOVE a band, it's better to be up front going nuts, oblivious to the fact that there's nobody as enthusiastic behind you. Being front row for Angra at 6 would've been twice as good as 4 people back, just because the people in front of me were mannequins. If you're going to stand there motionless, not even giving one little fist to the air, take a seat and let me through.

At PPIII we walked into the venue at 5:30 and walked straight to the left side of the rail for Zero Hour. After Edguy the girls to our right moved, so we had a most excellent view of Blind Guardian. So there! Getting up early and waiting for hours are not always necessary.

Gee didn't we have a thread about this already? :loco:

I will probably stop eating or drinking about 3 hours before Evergrey's set, and make my way to the front when FK and SC are playing...I don't mind Mercenary at all and will want to be in just the right spot for "the boys" at the end of the night.

As far as getting a GB is concerned...you can ask someone who already is on the list to buy two can't you?

What about socializing with friends, getting drinks, shopping for CDs, etc.? And MOST IMPORTANTLY... bathroom breaks. I'd rather be in the nose bleeders watching my favorite band then up front and feel the fury of a typhoon of urine swirling in my bladder begging for release. And the only way to avoid this is going without a single sip of alcohol... which is a big no no at Prog Power for me. I'd also rather enjoy the show with a group of my friends than move solo to the rail.

Besides, I never found it that difficult to move up front. You simply have to time your movements and not expect to be at the rail every time.
