FS: Custom Impulses

hey greg,

i'd like to try out the FREE ASEM impulse but for some reason i can't convert it into AXE-FX format.
is there a 24/48000 version of this impulse?

cheers
S.

Hey,

You can convert the sample rate if you want. I don't have a 48khz version, sorry. It was recorded in 44.1, so anything I could do to it, you could too.

Cheers,

-Greg

hey guys i had greg make me an impulse and finally i have a badass impulse. greg was great to work with, was patient with me and even offered some tips. heres a quick clip.

im still trying to tweak the eq settings so this isnt my final tone.
i might have greg make me another one :)

I'd like to hear this double tracked and some of the fizz tamed.

I may try to make some clips with the impulses soon. I don't know why I haven't :saint:

Cheers,

-Greg

i've been trying to convert them but i always get a false result.
i imported the original impulse , set the locators correctly and exported as a 24/48000 file. then i imported the new impulse and compared it to the original IR. for some reason the beginning of the new IR is getting cut off...

any ideas?

 I thought it was pretty clear, considering I posted it here. The impulse is only a taste of what I'm capable of. Get in touch before the first, and it's 50% off, like I mentioned :)

Hey Greg, interested in this as the bulk of my recording is done thru amp head then impulses.

Do you have any direct comparison clips between one of yours and spreshigh for example. same di, no processing etc. Even just a 10 second clip or so. Just to emphasise just how much of a difference yours will make?

If you dont have a file i can upload ones i done with Muckypups DI's, without the impulse loaded for you to use?

Cheers

Phil,

I have a free impulse in the beginning of this thread that you are more than welcome to download and use at your will. You may also compare it to whatever other impulse you would like. Several people on this forum who do great work have used my free impulse as part of their guitar chain (Dandelium, Jaymz, 006, Kyle Odell, etc) and obviously preferred it for certain applications.

I have done more custom impulse jobs than I can remember since I started this whole thing, and there is a reason I keep getting more work. I don't find it necessary to make direct comparisons to anyone else's impulses publicly, because a. there is an obvious bias, and b. it would be easy for anyone to "rig" their impulse in a test to come out sounding ahead. What it comes down to, is that I create impulses based upon the a guitarist's needs, and it then becomes part of their "sound." No one else has access to your impulse, unless YOU want to distribute it, and that's what it comes down to.

If you are a fan of the reamping work I do, there's a huge chance you'll benefit from having a custom impulse, and if you're tired of hearing the same guitar tone character over and over, you would also be a good candidate. Ryan's impulse is definitely a great sounding one, much better than 95% of the stuff out there, but you have to come to your own decision whether you want one of mine or not. You can ask anyone who has worked with me that their experience has been more than pleasant, and that the turnaround time for my work is quite above average.

Cheers for the quick reply Greg. I can understand your point of view i spose. I have tried your Beta one, and yep its a great impulse. I guess im just trying to work out how much of a difference one of your new ones with your new gear is going to be as opposed to using ur Beta one and Ryan's ones. Guess i need to work out what exactly im chasing and get back to you.

Cheers dude

Any time man. $50 is really chump change for the sale I'm running, and plenty of people have put down money for impulses. Hope to see that you're one of them.

What I can say about Greg's impulses when compared to the other impulses out there is that he can really nail the tone that YOU are looking for. When he states that these are custom, he is absolutely telling the truth. IMO there is not much out there that really compares to what he is doing, since it's all custom for the client vs general purpose impulses. I have bought 2 impulses from Greg and he was really great about talking tone, as well as really digging to get the end result just right. At $100.00 the impulses were a good deal, but at $50.00 they're a steal.

I testet a lot of IRs like Recabinet 2, Guitar hack etc. and Greg ones are definitely the best ones I heard. This is just my optinion, but I so it is...

Later, I will post 2-3 Clips with his IRs...just to promote him and his work.
Also he is working fucking fast!

Cheers

Got a custom Mesa impulse from Greg. Awesome! He made it really quick and just as I wanted it, even with all my specific requests. The second I loaded the impulse on my project it was instant joy. \m/

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who jumped on the offer. I decided I'm going to be ending the sale now, so prices are back up to $100.00 per impulse.

Everyone has been very happy so far, and I'm very thrilled to hear. I will be delivering a handful more impulses in the next week, so stay tuned.

Just got another couple of impulses from Greg. Everything that he has made for me sounds amazing! Greg is great to work with and has been a huge help in getting me some great tones in a less than optimum environment! I will post some clips of his work once I get a song done over the weekend
