FS: Custom Impulses

For those that work with amp sims, for those who work with amps but can't record a cab, for those who need GREAT impulses, Greg is your man. Very nice guy, easy to communicate with, delivering the goods exactly as asked.

As you probably understood, I got some custom impulses too...

Hey,

I do plan on going through with the impulse pack. I don't have all of the amps I want yet, and I want to do it all in one day when I'm on my A game :saint:

Cheers.

I did a Clayman-esque impulse for Eyes of Wrath which was Fredman Engl Pro. I also did another for Eyes of Wrath which was a single mic on the Engl Pro.

The Fortin Cali has landed... perhaps the hand-built king of all British flavored amps.

Anyone interested in some impulses through it? :saint:

Shooting for 10k views now

Greg, if you're doing an impulse pack, will you be including any impulses made using a solid state power-amp?
I only ask, as I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd use these impulses with real amps and there's no point having what's essentially two poweramps colouring the sound and having to corrective EQ the result.

If you're using the preamp out signal of your amplifier, you will be getting zero coloration from the poweramp.

The only way you'll be getting coloration from a poweramp is if you're taking a line out from an attenuator, or something of the sort, or perhaps running your head into your Countryman as a load box, and then taking that signal.

I don't own a solid state power amp to be honest. If there is enough demand for something like that, I'm sure I could find one :kickass:

Hi Greg, yeah - I'm picking up a Hotplate simply so I can get the full colouration of my amps and would defo prefer impulses made using a solid state poweramp.
I wouldn't advise trying to use a Countryman DI as a loadbox, I'd imagine you meant splitting the signal from the amp with a Countryman and also connecting the cab (load) to it...

I wouldn't recommend a hotplate. They are pretty terrible sounding as far as attenuators go. My Weber Mass 150 was MUCH better than the hotplate I tried.

AFAIK you can put a Countryman between a head and cabinet and take the line out from there, and it silences the signal. Giving it a quick shot couldn't hurt.

That's really interesting. So if I have this straight, you mean switching the Countryman to "speaker", connecting the speaker output of the head to "inst", connecting the "amp" to the cabinet, then hooking the "mic output" to your preamp?
