Not sure if I understand the question. Are you saying hip hop is hateful and disrespectful? See, I don't think black people think it is. Those racial slurs and derogatory comments about women etc are only insulting when non-blacks do it. For them, however, this is just part of daily language / slang / ebonics.

Al Sharpton just mentioned on the latest Bill Maher episode that even he himself would use the N-word in his day to day conversation. He actually had to make a concerted effort to stop using it because he now agrees it's a double standard.

Thing is, I don't think they see it as "hateful or disrespectful" at all. It's just pop-culture now and black people portrayed as gangtas, pimps, with their "bitches" and "ho's" is just normal day to day business.

If anything, it's just a reflection of their real life isn't it? Maybe regular black folks can't afford real bling bling but they like to dream about it at least. That and women with big butts.
