Gamers Thread

I have been playing Lord of The Rings Online: The Shadows of Angmar a ton the last month or so. I just hit lvl 44 tonight. Hooray. 6 more lvls to go.

Okay. I started playing with my hunter and realized that she doesn't suck as much as I thought she did (infact she is pretty awesome.)

I just was stupid with how I used her, what with the whole "Shoot first then get assaulted by melee damage" strategy instead of sending out my pet to attack and tank for me while I shoot from a distance. Ever since I started playing her properly I've had a blast, hitting things from all different angles while my little crab friend ruins peoples days :p

Haha, also currently my Mana level is maxed out at 666.

My uncle has hijacked the xbox 360 for his week off from work. So no Oblivion for the next week.

Have any SC players noticed that Starcraft is oddly similar to Starship Troopers? There is even a few multiplayer maps of Starship Troopers "battles" which are really fun.

Yes, Starcraft is loosely based on Starship Troopers, which in turn is based on Robert Heinlein's book by the same name.

I can't say thats not entirely true, but what I can say, is Blizzard has drawn most heavily from the Warhammer universe, with Warcraft, including Starcraft... which brings us to the Warhammer 40k universe.

Starcraft is especially parallel to the Warhammer 40k universe, but not so much the game. (which is also, a fucking badass RTS, more people should play it, damnit)

Terrans = Space Marines

Protoss = Eldar/Tau

Zerg = Tyranids

and I'm not gonna even get into all the SC lore being even more similar :heh: (its a borefest anyways yeah?)

SC's been around longer in games, but Warhammer has been around for much longer in general... it's just I could never get into D&D OR paying that much money to paint fucking paperweights.

Blizzard isn't known for their creativity in the SC series especially.

i agree 100%

that game was a gift from the hells when i was 13

fixed.

A masterpiece of a game. Although I must admit I missed out on it. for the most part. If a Diablo 3 ever rolls around, expectations will be so high for that game, Blizzard is almost sure to disappoint. :waah:

I hope I'm wrong, come SC2... since that's second on the hype list.

Sengoku Basara X is the only game I'm interested in at the moment:

It's a collaboration between Capcom and Arc System Works (makers of Guilty Gear series)...Capcom's first 2D fighter in years so that's pretty exciting to me!

Looks like it plays like a mix of Samurai Shodown and the last Hokuto no Ken fighter so far so that's pretty neat...

Wow you really seem to be hung up on those(the more obscure, the better) 2D fighters. Can't say I understand the appeal. I always sucked at fighting games.

Enemy Territories Quake Wars is almost out... I seriously cannot wait.

However, as I have to, I am playing through some modules I downloaded for Neverwinter Nights, one of the best games ever made, no matter how many times I play that it never gets old as it is as easy as Morrowind to get/make modules and campaigns for.
