Gamers Thread

Games are coming in at a very slow pace these days, I only choose the best ones imo. So much crap is released in the gaming world, it has to be a truly unique gamegem, or a well crafted game for me to purchase. I own the P3 and the 360, I like both, but I have been playing P3 more, Im not very interested in the Wii Wii.

some cool games coming ...

-Devil May Cry 4
-Metal Gear(P3)
-Fable 2
-2 Worlds
-Assassins Creed
-Mass Effect
-Conan
-Rise of the Argonauts
-Army of two

I need to try Enemy Territory : Quake War's as I did love Enemy Territory and I've heard that its quite similar to Bf2 which is another game I enjoy, so I gotta check that out. Also, Team Fortress 2 looks pretty fun.

It's not like BF2 much at all...

Ever play ET? This is ET, on the Quake 4 engine. Now, I hope thats a good thing for you, because ET was incredible, and above and beyond your cookie-cutter FPS multiplayer these days. ET: QW only improves on this. But perhaps all it takes from BF2 are vehicles; they're a little floaty and take more damage - you can actually land a helicopter and it won't fall over and start burning if you do it wrong.

But unlike BF2... you can't dominate an entire round with a vehicle, theres a lot less realism, and there is no VOIP whatsoever. The fireteam feature is useless. Teamwork in this game is going to have to come through mods, ala ET Pro.

Anyways it's awesome... i've been in the beta a while now. 2nd beta is going around now, still some keys left at fileplanet.com.

I'm going off to Uni soon. I haven't really played any games in ages but I'm kinda interested in Bioshock (System Shock 2 <3), Rainbow Six and Oblivion. If anyone wants to recommend any other games that would be cool.

Not that fussed with Bioshock, to be honest. I'm waiting for Stranglehold - that WILL make me want to bum Chow Yun Fat.

I watched the Bioshock video, and wasnt too impressed, considering its set in some 1920's shopping place or something. But I got a new computer so need to test the new games on the highest settings to see how they look. Ill definatly get Stranglehold, and that Alan Wake game, but gunna have to wait a while for them.

So, now I can finally play Oblivion with all the settings at their max which, I guess is pretty cool. The graphics are truly great. The faces of characters are kind of ugly though.

The game is set in the 1960's and you are in an underwater city called rapture built by a man named Andrew Ryan. His goal was to create a city where a mans potential was not stifled by any God or government. Where science could advance without being held back by "morals".

Because of this, gigantic leaps were made in technology and genetic manipulation became more common than plastic surgery. you could do what you wanted and look how you wanted by simply modifying your genetic make up with what is called ADAM. The genetic modification went haywire however and people started going crazy. The city became rife with smuggling, rebellion and corruption. You are stuck down there and it is your job to escape and find out why these things happened.

The story of the game is very well written and plays out very well. Not to mention the amazing gameplay. I would suggest checking it out.

I'm waiting for Halo 3, I read alot of stuff about how there developing the game and man is it ever gonna be good.

Right now I'm really into Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2

the online play is sickening

Agreed, I really thought that GRAW2 was much more fun online than R6V. THat being said, the online matchmaking and room hosting is a complete cunt; our group of 6 or so gamers couldn't ever play a game together. Single player is kind of cool too, though. Looking forward to the new Pro-Evo when it comes out, hoping for a marvel ultimate alliance 2 (I can wish!) and I would really like the 80s GH2 add on to come out any time soon!
