Gamers Thread

I could never really get into Morrowind that much. It wasn't a bad game but the xbox version of it had so many damn glitches. I don't know if this happened on all the disks but on mine, whole towns would disappear only leaving a bunch of doors all over the place. Then you have guards who attack you for no reason at all, every once in a while. There are a few others that really irked me but I won't get into them all.

Another thing that really bothered me about the game is, I killed one of the Dagoths (or whatever they were called) that you're supposed to kill later in the game, not knowing he was criticle to the game. Not knowing I had to take a key item of the game from him, I left Red Mountain and the weapon and his body disappeared leaving me unable to beat the game. I haven't picked it up again since.

heard a rumor that a third Deus Ex game will be made. It would be awesome if such a thing were to come to pass, yes?

That's not really a rumour, it was confirmed a few months ago. And whether it will be awesome remains to be seen considering how bad the second one was.

Red Alert 3, 15 September 2008

The Soviets used the time machine to erase Yuri and Einstein in the past, making huge disrupt in the space/time continuum. This causes and imbalance in world superpowers. This caused the Japanese to rise to become a superpower.

Japanese missions are only unlockable after the Soviets and Allied campaign are played.

The Japanese and it's empire will be the strongest faction on sea.

The new Red Faction game shows promise. The stress system physics on the buildings will cause them to blow up and crumble like they actually would in real life. The level designers actually had to learn a little architecture and put things like beams and rebar in the walls to hold the buildings up. Supposedly you will be able to bring structures down on top of the enemy solidiers. This sounds like a great destruction geared sandbox title. Maybe what Black and Mercenaries should have been?

Fallout 3 will be fuckin sick, you can mark my words. I loved the first 2 installments but now Bethesda is just going to take it to whole new levels of badassery.

I never played the first 2 because they were for computer and I don't play computer games. I read the synopsis for them, though when I read an article about Fallout 3. I really wish I could get a hold of them.
I almost forgot that Bethesda is making that game, that makes my pants a little wetter.

I just want to see how the battle system will be. In the originals it was kinda turn based but in 3 I think some new targeting system will be applied. Besides I don't think it will be totally turn-based. Hopefully it won't just turn out to be all Elder Scrolls-ish with guns instead of swords. I heard there will be children in the game which raises the question would you be able to kill them? If so, the game will spark so much controversy it might be pushed to have a AO rating which will kill it.

They said in the article I read that the fighting system is in real time.
I think even if you can kill children it'll only pull an M rating. I mean, as long as it isn't brutal or something. I mean if Manhunt can get an M, I have confidence in Bethesda.

Idk, I think killing kids might still be a bit taboo. Even though Bioshock kinda did it with the "gatherers" which weren't really kids but had the apperance of children. I hope it will just get a M though but I think its still a good bit until release anyway. Have you heard about the Alien game that is suppose to be coming out 09? It sounds like it will be another good game. But then again No More Heroes was suppose to be good too.

Fallout 2 had children in it but they were removed for the European version for some reason (in a really half-assed way too where it broke atleast one quest). I really don't think it's that big a deal if they put that in Fallout 3. The game punishes you so hard for killing a child (I did it once accidently without noticing it and permanently ruined my savegame) that it doesn't seem like it needs to be censored. It's not on the same footing as Carmageddon and Manhunt and games like that where it glorifies or rewards gruesome acts.

Kids, women, men; it makes no difference - they're all soulless husks in said fantasy worlds... husks which need to be torn asunder.

but seriously, Bethesda is good about shit like this. They'll handle it well. There'll be mad penalties for killing kids. The game will be M at most.

Can't you kill kids in Oblivion? I can't really remember, I haven't played it in a while.

2 very weird things. Didn't notice the bathrooms, actually, until you pointed it out...that is really weird...
