Gamers Thread

Oh my god, one more wretched level to go until 70. I can't wait until the experience bar disappears.

By the way, my sig updates once a week, so it's not current.

is it just me or are M rated games becoming more T rated-ish?
seems like the amount of blood and gore in M rated games has gone down.

true, i just feal like some of the military FPS's need to make the blood and gore a bit more graphic than just some red mist.

I wish blood spatter was better. Like, it would get on you and shit. And when you capped a fool there'd be a pool of blood. And you could blow people's limbs off.
Felt like COD4 did a good job, though...

yeah blood spatter would be cool, SOF series was good for blowin off limbs, usin the knife was fun lol.
but like the self proclaimed "realistic FPS's" need realistic gore, like when you shoot someone in the head it cracks open JFK style. Red Orchestra did a good job with the grenades where legs and arms would be shredded or blown off and the rest of the body peppered with blood from shrapnel and stuff.

definently, COD4 and CS:source did a great job with ragdoll physics.
it would also be cool to have dripping blood, like if you shot someone on a building and they were hangin off the edge to have blood drip on anything/anyone below it.

The thing with ragdoll physics in CS: Source is that they don't have tendons/ligaments etc. that keep the limbs from going in directions they shouldn't unless they break, they just flop and flail around in all directions. That's not very realistic.

Yeah, I hate it when you kill a guy and he goes all rubbery. Never seen a game with ragdoll where that didn't happen, though...too bad. Someday they'll solve it. But people react to explosions well.

RTS? Action Game? what is it

Wikipedia says a "hack and slash, action adventure" type of game.

The game will feature an open-world experience, there will be three islands in the world of Midgard, the player can explore each one of them freely. the player will be able to search and find his fellow viking soldiers and rescue them and use them in battles,

The world will have plenty of castles which player can attack and capture, when the player finishes his missions in each island, he must fight a great war, this can be a great siege or a battle between large armies. One of the main features of the game will be large armies, in many battles there will be hundreds of soldiers fighting to the death.

The player may use different ways of weakening his enemy, like killing their shaman, or getting into the main fight and use combat moves and combos to kill enemy soldiers. There is not much revealed about the combat system of the game, but it will feature hack and slash gameplay much like the previous Creative Assembly action game, Spartan: Total Warrior, though it will be considerably more violent featuring very graphic violence including dismemberment.
