Gamers Thread

about 9 hours through Lost Odyssey. Pretty cool so far, reminds me of the classic Final Fantasy games on the Playstation.

Definitely. The game is made by the same dude that does Final Fantasy and Nobuo Uematsu does the music, so the games feel very much the same. I am just about finished with the third disc right now. It has been the most entertaining so far.

I got to the beginning of disc 4 awhile ago and haven't had a chance to finish it (damn school). I liked it generally--especially those Thousand Years of Dreams short stories--but the main story seemed to turn into a go here, then there, then there after disc 1, which is somewhat disappointing. Maybe it will get better once beat disc 4. Otherwise I like the game quite a bit.

Tony Hawk = boredom
I played the 2nd and 3rd one. They were fun!
:kickass:
First one is fun too...I played that game way too much. Got every single orb and power cell. It got kinda ridiculous. I can beat it in about 3 hours.
I beat Jak 3 first time through in about 8 hours, including an hour for the second to last boss fight and a while for the Pacman game.
First time through Jak 2 took me upwards of 20 hours, even though I didn't die that much. That game was epic.

The thing with ragdoll physics in CS: Source is that they don't have tendons/ligaments etc. that keep the limbs from going in directions they shouldn't unless they break, they just flop and flail around in all directions. That's not very realistic.

yeah, the bodys also fly around a lot like theres no gravity and the body is weightless. broken limbs would also be a cool feature in a game, like if you fall of something high your legs can break backward or something forcing you to limp or crawl.
also if helmets and gear could be blown off.

it would be cool if shooting a bad guy in the foot couldn't kill him. Call of Duty has made some improvements in this area - a wounded bad guy can still cap you, and in the multiplayer you can do that too. But you can still kill with the classic shot-to-the-foot-from-behind-impenetrable-cover.
Also, more games need to do seriously destructible environments. I don't just wanna be able to blow up those crates, I wanna be able to blow through the walls and collapse the roof on the bad guys.

Ya, the main story isn't the best nor very original, but the stories of the individual characters are. I love the short stories. One of my favorite parts of the game.

yeah, theres a PC game, Soldner, were you can destroy everything, but the graphics are crap compared to the newer games.
yeah, in ArmA (another pc game) you can shoot someone in the leg and blood appears on their torso or something and you can kill with foot shots. still a very fun game with good graphics.
2nd one should be comin out this year, maybe also for xbox which would be nice.
