What an arse.

The dude has taken an outrageous amount of undeserved abuse. I will stand up for him bc he has gone through great lengths to help me out and be there for me and never asked for anything in return.

I don't know, even though he has received a lot of abuse, a lot of his posts around here were arrogant as he kind of came across with a holy than thou attitude, secretive, as if everyone that had respect for him, including the throngs of kids that wanted to sound just like him weren't worthy of his knowledge. When he did start blowing up around here, most of his posts where threads he started that were more, "look at how awesome I am". Of course he helped others around here, but it seemed limited to people that he was more friends with that where more long time UM members that he conversed with back before his fame, everyone else he seemed to ignore unless it was, "even if I give you presets you will never sounds like me, but I still won't give you my presets", which was fairly rare.

Sure he may be mad, but to rant and say that no one that he has worked with would be nothing without him is a little over the top, rude, arrogant and highly unprofessional, because at the end of the day, he would also be nothing without them as well.

Can anyone tell me where he says the bands he worked with would be nothing without him? I feel like I'm losing my ability to read, because that's stated exactly nowhere in what I'm looking at.

I always found him to be very humble and down-to-earth, and very generous with tips and tricks - many of the bands he's recorded exemplify everything I hate about modern heavy music, but I always loved how he'd straight-up admit he did it to one day be able to buy a yacht  I wonder where he's getting this abuse from though; I can't remember the last time his name has come up here, and I thought this forum was the only place that cared about the producers of shitty music :D

All that said, however, I have to agree with muckypup, that post comes across as a kinda lame plea for validation

That is enough to make me never want to hire him to do anything for me, and to me that is pretty much the definition of unprofessional. You guys can defend him all you want, but that post was messed up, plain and simple. Maybe you missed the part that said "Fuck you, fuck all of you. With all the fucking might in the world, fuck you forever.", or maybe you're overlooking the entire rant because you happen to be bros with him. Well that shit is there, I'm looking at it right in front of me.

This is a business. He offers a service at a price, and bands and labels pay him their hard earned money for it. He is successful. I'm not sure why he feels entitled to so much more than that. He isn't doing them a favor and they don't "owe" him. He is not the only producer in town.

Again, context is key. This was specifically following a string of ridiculous Facebook attacks/drama and the "fuck you" was clarified immediately after the post to be specifically at the people who were talking shit.

Who said he feels entitled to anything but credit where credit is due? Who said he was doing anyone any favors or that he was 'owed' anything? You're reading way too far into this and don't understand what was going on to prompt that kind of response. Was it professional? No. Will he regret it later? Probably. Was it justified? Totally.

Well that's something... wonder what got up his goat so much?

Edit: Never mind, apparently readying comprehension is not one of my skills.

Its a bit sad to see all this drama happen, its all quite ridiculous.

Guess this is the reaction to the meme that went up yesterday then...

...to be fair it was an echo of everything that's been said here before

One should know that he immediately added something along the lines of "directed to the haters" below that post.
I always thought he got butthurt pretty easily, and as a frequent internet user you should think he would have learned to ignore trolls or internet flaming, but I also understand where the post came from (as Jeff said, context is everything).
Honestly, I also tend to get real angry if someone attacks me over the internet and then I write huge hate posts etc, but before posting them I just delete the text, sign off and do something different instead

People also need to get that Josh @Random Awesome posted it on the Random Awesome facebook page. To me thats the definition of being an unprofessional dick.

The context was pretty flimsy for the diatribe to be honest - a lot of it doesn't match the "fuck the haters yo" pretense that came after that, it seemed more like he chalked that on because he realised he had to somehow rationalise that complete lack of modesty or self control that he let get to his head.

Not the only crazy thing he's done recently either, what with the begging for donations and then posting on that forum that he needed money and would do mastering jobs under the table so he could duck the IRS.

He doesn't deserve this, but come on it's just fun.
What really helps is that he actually responds like this. It feeds the "haterz".

If I would be working on the projects he does, and get the money he makes, I would just be laughing.
