Can anyone tell me where he says the bands he worked with would be nothing without him? I feel like I'm losing my ability to read, because that's stated exactly nowhere in what I'm looking at.

He said they wouldn't be where they are now without him, not "nothing" but I don't see how not to see it like that.

If he got pissed over that meme, he's a whiney bitch and needs to get over the consequences of being famous, but I have the feeling it's more than that.

Not sure what led up to this whole thing, but I can see how someone could get fed up after a while. If there's consistent hate, even veiled or sarcastic, it can just grate on the nerves after a while. I'm not innocent, more in the sense that I've done my sharing of bagging for the actual bands he's worked with, but I've never denied the guy's talent. He has a great ear for production and deserves to be where he is. Just gotta grow a thicker skin methinks and stop listening to the plebs.

I agree with most of the posters here, although the way he is coming off is not cool, he does deserve better than he's getting. I'm not saying he should be worshiped. but he does what he's paid to do and the criticism should be directed at the bands he produced/records for choosing him/his sound, it's his signature sound and fuck anyone who doesn't like it. That being said......he does need to be a little more professional about this cause he's making himself and other home producers look like begging assholes.

I don't think he qualifies as a home producer anymore? According to his own words in the snippet shown in the 1st post, he's working in one of the biggest studios in LA now

true, however he IS where most of us wanna be someday as far as working with good/great bands. lets face it, this guy is eating off of recording music, he was where we are and he should be greatful that he is recognized for his talents because there are guys who are just as good as he is on this forum alone who would love his shot, me included. I don't like a lot of the bands he produce but I have to hand it to Joey....he knows his shit.

I don't know the guy, but this vaguely reminds me of something an awkwardly insecure, high school girl on the rag posts to Tumblr. Marcus' reply hits it on the head and KOdell's question of professionalism nails it. "Professionalism" and "Facebook rants" don't mix.
