That´s it my friends,
Which one would u get knowing that the 6505 would cost 870 euros (ex-demo item) and the buger 6262 around 450 euros.
We all now what they do and that the second clones the first, etc.
I´m leaning towards the deal on the 6505 but the buger sure sounds tempting.
I guess the my main problem is that i have no way to try them side by side, nor separatly (no music shops with them nearby).

Do u fell the price paid for a 6505 nowadays is justifiable??
Are they still better enough than the copies that justifies the price tag?

i´ve seen one or two posts from people (FJAmods) saying that is is really EXACTLY the same circuit minus the resonance feature (that it is there but fixed, from what i remember reading)

Does the buger play it´s role as a faithfull 6505/5150 replica?

I´m a bit divided by the two and have to make a decision till the end of the week, so Your opinions/advices are welcome :)

The 6505 is basically what the 6262 is trying to achieve, and I haven't heard the best reliability stories about Bugera amps.

6505 vs. Bugera, are you high? :loco:

$$$$:erk:

Have you or anybody A/B them?
i ´ve heard the reliability stories....i´m talking about tone. is it really that close?
i´ve seen that toneking shootout on youtube but it didn´t convince me and some others , because of the way it is presented

I spent some hours A/Bing them several times.

To break it down: As expected, they're similar but not identical tone-wise. Doing what they do best (hardly anyone would shoot for a fiddy when searching for something really versatile anyway), the 6505 just sounds that tad little better as far as clarity and punch goes. But it's not anywhere near a "double the price" difference in tone. I might even say that the Booger does some things actually even better: the crunch on the clean channel has more bite to my ears, for example.

Buck for buck, I'd say the Bugera is the better deal. But if you're a tone perfectionist, there's still no way around the real thing. :worship:

I really wonder if changing the stock tubes in the Bugera could make the difference even more negligible...

Thx, this is the kind of feedback i was hoping for.
still haven´t pulled the plug but it looks like a 6505 on the way....just don´t know if i´d get it biasmodded right away since they still give the warranty, but they charge too much to do it..

you made a wise choice

having played them both, and owned a few 5150's...the real thing is a better amp IMO

if i found a 6262 used, for a price that was ridiculously cheap, i'd probably pick one up...but no way i'd pay the going price for one, when you can get a peavey for just a little more

Ive had 3 6505's thru repplacemnts. At this point i dont think its any better quality than the bug.
