Gettin a very squashed high snare sound

Hey guys, im looking to get a certain snare sound. Part of me loves it and part of me gets annoyed by it. but i wanna try a song with it. My drummer recor[/URL]ded a song with a high tuned snare so i imagine with a lot of compression it can happen. but is there any thing else???

its at .15 when the song actually comes in.

Sounds similar (if it isn't) to the Slate ToneDef snare...At least on my computer speakers here at work.

Might have to take out a bit of ring/pitch and tune it up or down a bit, but it may work, especially if you blend it with the current snare sound you have (assuming your drums are miked). compression settings are too hard to recommend without hearing the source, IMO.

if you ask me, the snare is the weakest link on that drum sound. But yeah, use a snare sample that doesn't have much of the snare wires in the sound
