Gibson LP Custom Lite

I think they had some LP 'lites' back in the 80's too.

Yep.

Cool guitars, but I don't think they were wildly successful for some reason. I'd imagine they'd do much better now. It's a shame they're not making them a standard production model.

So why can they sell this for less than a third of the price of the regular custom?
I'm sure that tiny bit of wood can't make the difference.
I really want a LP custom, but this looks like too much of a compromise for me

The half assed-ness is strong with this one. Gibson fanbois won't buy it because they believe a guitars weight alters the sound (making this a "fake" LP), and everybody else knows you can get better guitars for that kind of money :(.

/ God, that rosewood fretboard looks hideous with the big LP inlays.

// !!! I take that first bit back actually, I thought it was well over 2000$ (standard custom price), but for 1100€ it's obviously great value. !!!

/// But I'm with Lasse on this one, what the fuck makes it so cheap? No real "Gibson appeal" because it's not regular thickness?
