Were you at the House Of Blues show in Atlantic City? I had to sit through DEP's 45 minute set there. Horrible.
Dillinger Escape Plan. <3

Great band.

I'm not too thrilled with the lineup (although overall, it's better than last year's), but I'll probably still go to the Columbus date since that's not too far away.

yeah dude, after nevermore played, we pretty much sat in the back and talked to them after they signed shit, then when they left, we left and walked around the casino the rest of the show, came back for the end of Dream Theater and the begining of Megadeth, then went outside and met up with Jim. Good times.

There WILL be a second stage, the bands just haven't been announced yet. And the Gigantour site hasn't been updated yet...says it should up today. Grr.

I could kick myself for not going last year, so I've gotta go this year. At least for Megadeth, Opeth, Arch Enemy and Into Eternity. Looks like there will be no Kansas City or St. Louis dates, so my man and I are driving to Denver.

Road trips are fun!

EDIT: Gigantour.com is now up and running.

there's no way you guys are gonna bunk at my place in beautiful east side C-bus

Heh, I've made blitzkreig drives to Cleveland and back for concerts without stopping to sleep, driving to back from Columbus after a concert is nothing.

Into Eternity? Ew. I almost don't wanna go just because i'll have to put up with that shit. They've got the worst vocals out of any metal band, ever. :puke: The rest of that though, thats really good. Just to see Overkill would rule totally.
Lol your joking right? they have some of the best clean vocals in there style, especially the harmony parts.
and there all incredibly good musicians.

over all it looks mostly as good as last years line-up wise...except no nevermore.

hopefully Symphony X will go I didn't get to see them last year.

EDIT: also the gigantour site is up, fuck it doesnt say Mass or Maine on there anywhere...it also says that first stage is Arch Enemy, Megadeth, Lamb Of God and Opeth. and second stage is the rest.

I thought they were supposed to announce some more second stage bands. Oh well, I'll still go as long as there is a PA date or somewhere else close.

@Mike: I would have talked to the Nevermore guys, but paying $20 for a cd I bought on its release date is ridiculous. I hope FYE doesn't sponsor the whole meet-n-greet thing this year.

Fellow Neck Wreckers...

It warms my heart to finally post this long awaited information...GIGANTOUR IS CONFIRMED!!! This is what I was sent as of this morning...

"Well, its been rumored for a while but now we can confirm that Overkill will be headlining the second stage on the upcoming Gigantour starting Sept. 7th. DD and Blitz met with Dave Mustaine last summer while on tour in California and spoke about being part of the tour, and over the last few months were able to put it all together. Says DD Its not many tours that would take out an Old School Thrash band, so we are really psyched to get out there!

In other news the new Overkill album is just about complete. The band were planning to be in the studio in late Aug, but will move it to after the Gigantour to start recording, so you may hear some songs on this run. Overkill will be doing headlining shows on the off days of this tour as well; so keep checking here for updates.

headlining the second stage? how the hell does Overkill not make the mainstage?
