It’s a bonafide classic but as to making a 90s list, I don’t know about that.

It was actually my first Megadeth album and I still love it to this day.

They're basically neck and neck. Both are peak flash-thrash, but while RIP has far greater breadth of ideas, By Inheritance has a consistently very high standard of writing.

IMO RiP is about 10% better but they're both fucking excellent. I can't think of too many thrash albums I'd rank above RiP maybe just Ride the Lightning, not sure what else. That said I do listen to By Inheritance more often these days

you guys are nuts, there isnt a single 5 star track on By Inheritance and the second half of the album isnt even that good. And its not even that similar to RiP so this little comparison conversation you guys are having honesty sounds like amateur hour nonsense. I expect it from some of the more clueless people (when it comes to thrash) like mort and challenge, but i thought HBB would put his fanboyism aside here .. sadly that's not the case. Same reason why he constantly praises garbage like exodus.
