Going into detail!

Although there are uncountable great song passages in SX tracks,
which are your favorites? I mean song sections, rhythm lines, guitar soli or cool song beginnings and all other ingredients I`ve forgotten. We could discuss musical highlights in single songs,too!

I picked out my highlights (rank order impossible)

1.) Bridge to Refrain + Refrain of "A winter`s dream-The ascension (Part II)
2.)"Smoke & mirrors" beginning
3.) First keyboard entry in "Of sins & shadows" until "-the dying eyes of a prey"
+ song passage "Realize that your cries only jeopardize this legacy"
4.) Choir in "Out of the ashes"-chorus after "I rise a man"
5.) Common guitar and keyboard solo in "Sea of lies"
6.) Passage in "The accolade",namely "Sons of antioch,an angel`s voice cries out to him,free the holy lands,bring peace to it again" + "To see the light to spent his life to understand The sword he once held tight falls forever from his hands" + medieval "church bells"-intermezzo
7.) "Through the looking glass": Cool keyboard solo at the beginning + line "Look to the other side reach the undefine" +
"Everything so strange,the same but rearranged"
8.) "Communion & the oracle": Line "Night and day will find a way to keep the Balance true

I have one that is my absolute favorite Symphony X moment. It's in The Accolade when the bells start in with a melody, then there is about six or seven different melodies that are worked in followed by, "To see the light..."

I can only really comment on V since it's the only album i own, but i'll still comment

1. The part in The Grand Design when it comes to "We shall live forever..." I just love that part
2. The Death Of Balance (The whole song)
3. A Fool's Paradise at the very end "...is this the final setting sun?"
4. Rediscovery Part 2 during the "Bow down to me..." part and at the end i love the sound of the vocals along with the riff "Again the Titans clash..."

4 is probably my favourite part of the whole album, hence my sig

- "....touched by the kiss of a sunrise" (smoke and Mirrors)
- The aforementioned Accolade part
- The part after the first verse of Candlelight Fantasia..("In Twilight..)
- The intrumental part in Eyes of Medusa
- The bridge going into the solo of Evololution
- The vocal intro to TDWoT
- Intro to Out of the Ashes
- Communion and the Oracle "Raise our heads up to the sky.."

and of course the solo in Seal of Lies

Indeed, it seems in every article I read about Symphony X, two other bands appear, Kansas and Dream Theater.

Most likely you've heard 'Carry on Wayward Son' it's about the only Kansas song you can here on the radio, at least in the United Sates. I also suggest 'Questions of My Childhood' also off Leftoverture.

Sorry...I had to get that out of my system. Anyway..hmm..it's hard for me to think about while I'm not listening to. The first thing that comes to mind is in Candlelight Fantasia during the verses where there's acousticy guitar almost dancing on top of the rest of the music...gives me chills each time. "Winds of change bring songs upon my memory...an empty heart and soul
intoxicates me..."

• Rediscovery part II (the part from "Bow down to me.." to "we'll decide for the future" and "Lost evermore..." to "we must find our way again" <- on this one Russell put an incredible feeling on his voice )
