Gold Badge Deadline: OVER

What is the history of the gold badge? Has it been around since PPI? Has anybody been on the list every single year that is not associated with the festival in some way? Just curious.

Folks that went to PPI had first crack at PPII tickets and that started the list. I was a GB member from PPI-PPX, this year will mark my 3rd year being a sponsor. I know there are a few of us left that have been GB or sponsors every year. Maybe at the 15th anniversaty we should do a photo or something..

Out of curiosity, how many GB members returned this year? Hopefully it was a high percentage.

I have maintained an 80-85% return rate over the past decade. This year is no different. I'm also really pleased with the regular ticket sale pace this year even without the big announcement that is still to come.
:kickass:

Heh... I wasn't at ProgPower I in Chicago, but I still have a confirmation email from July 2001 for my ProgPower II gold badge purchase in my saved email folder. And a similar email for every gold badge since, including the one I received a few days ago, heh. I know some people who were stalwarts the first 4 - 5 years, but then changing life situations, family obligations, etc, made them less involved in being a music fan, or at least less able to travel to see it. I don't have any family obligations, so barring some major emergency or something, as long as Glenn puts on a show, I will be there. I even told my sister when she got married a few years back that I'd definitely be there... any time except the second week of September. :) A good friend of mine is getting married next year, but I know there will be no conflict there, since he and his girlfriend are both ProgPower attendees as well, LOL.

Glad to hear it ... and the upcoming announcement you mention. Last year's announcements were impressive and made it easier for me to continue coming and to justify the Gold Badge.

We may not always agree about music and band selection but I respect your job and track record with the festival as well as my own desire to keep this annual festival going.

As we all know, Glenn is the fucking man!
I missed the 48 hour response time on Gold Badge emails by a week (since I was on vacation). So, when I returned home, I saw the email and wanted to just crawl away and die! I've been waiting to get a Gold Badge, and I missed my opportunity.
So, I email Glenn, explaining the situation, and lo and behold, there is still a few gold badges remaining and I can still get one...FUCK YEAH! Many people would just, A. ignore the email, or B. tell me to fuck right off , but Glenn responds almost immediately with great news! Thats why the festival continues to be successful to this day, because the promoter is to Promoters as is Ray Alder to vocalists, or John Petrucci is to guitarists...GODLIKE!

Thanks Glenn!!!
