What? Emperor and Cradle of Faggotry DO NOT share the same kind of sound. Not at all. Seriously, what the hell are you talking about? To me, CoF are not even black metal...they seem more like Goth metal with BM undertones...or something.

Well, I can see the "tr00" and "n3cr0" jokes comin', but spare me that crap, as it's no longer original or funny, not to mention it's completely unfounded.

Anyway, I hate CoF and that kind of so called "symponic" Black Metal, but if you want some bands in that same style, then check out:

Dimmu Borgir (*shudder*)
Old Man's Child (meh)
Grand Alchemist (the only "symphonic" BM band I like)

Now for the real stuff, these bands/albums should be a good start (though I'm only suggesting what comes off the top of my head right now):

Dissection-Storm of the Light's Bane, and to a lesser extent, The Somberlain. These guys are awesome, but they're black/death, I guess.

Ulver-Bergtatt (pure brilliance)

Windir-Likferd

Taake-Bjoergvin (sp?)

Negura Bunget-Sala Molska and 'N Crugu Bradului (my favorite album of 2003 so far)

Darkthrone-Transylvanian Hunger

Mayhem-De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas

Enslaved-vikingligrveldi, Frost, Below the Lights (not really BM to some, but I don't care)

I could go on, but all these albums I mentioned are truly excellent, but you might be put off by the raw kind of style, as none of them have that overly produced sound that CoF and Dimmu share....oh, but you seem to like Emperor, so maybe you'll be alright.

But seriously, my comment stands....what exactly do you mean by implying that Emperor and CoF share a similar sound?

I can't find any similarities, hmmm....I must be deaf or holding a grudge against CoF, it seems....
