Good luck to Turkey !!

Luizao's comments after the game:

Alpay did pull my shirt, so it was really a foul. But it happened outside, and I threw myself into the box. I put the ball onto the penalty spot as soon as I got up, and the ref awarded the penalty.

Now, is there a smilie to gangbang three motherfuckers simultaneously?

Ok Umy so now just tell me why did Ronaldo give that big smile after he scored? It's not an extraordinary thing to score against Turkey :p Or I could say the Germans and Saudi Arabia  It seems a decent footballer can only be happy with his performance in a World Cup final
I agree the Brazilian defence was wretched. I was chewing the wall in pain whenever Edmilson got near the ball. ROque Junior is sooooooooo overrated... I dont remember he touched the ball once... And where was he when Hasan Sas routinely scored that goal???
You're favourite line is this past is past but unlike Hungarian, the Brazilian football is still on the top of the World with winning the title in 1994 and being runner-ups in 1998! :p

I want to see Rustu playing in a game with a sunny first half and a rainy second

ps: Leave Luizão alone, the past is past
;)

ps2: when he fell and the camera was showing the ref running towards the scene of the incident grabbing sth in his pocket, the Brazilian commentator said: "Luizão will get a yellow".

I'm watching China - Costa Rica game at the moment... they are not opponents for us. We can easily beat them. Too bad i have an exam at the same time with the last China match. Anyway... we'll do it :)

Ronaldo afforded a smile because he gave his team a huge relief... Hasan Sas didn't, because (repeat) one goal does not seal the game. His reaction would have been different if the goal was on the 85th minute. Plus, you do not need to jump around the field screaming to display your joy, Hasan Sas is twice a valuable player for confining his elation for the right moment :)

Past is past, I insist. Brazil may have made it to the finals in 1998, but not with such a remarkable quality of play. They got absolutely trashed in the final by France anyway. If you are still stubborn with their 98-final achievement, I'd like to remind you even that was 4 years ago! And they almost failed to make it to the WC finals this year. So...

Btw, Rivaldo and the referee have just made so-called press confessions that hit Reuters. I'd like to ask here:
Where was your fucking honesty when it mattered?!
 :hotjump:
Anyway, the past is past, and we should be looking ahead now...

But before that, let's have a look at the latest hit from Reuters:

"The disciplinary committee is going to closely look at the videotape.... at the reaction of Rivaldo, at the reaction to him being struck somewhere below the waist," FIFA spokesman Keith Cooper told a press conference.
Cooper added: "I don't want to pre-empt the decision but going into the World Cup it was made clear that they will clamp down on simulation -- FIFA-speak for cheating."
Directly after the game, Rivaldo admitted faking an injury and using of his experience to have his opponent sent off.

And here's the current result of the poll held at Eurosport's Web site:

WORLD CUP: Your thoughts on the Rivaldo case?
1. Shocking, should have been booked 19 %
2. Disgusting, should be banned for next game 39 %
3. Unforgivable, should be kicked out of the WC 30 %
4. Normal, no sanction 12 %

Number of votes: 663

:hotjump:

My opinion: Lifetime ban from football  ;)

I think all teams in the world would have been honoured to lose 3-0 to France in the World Cup final! I remember a team that was absolutely trashed by France though, in a stadium I once visited :heh:
Yeah even that 0-3 was 4 years ago, too bad I don't have records for the WC'99, WC'00, WC'01
And Brazil qualified on the 3rd place while even the 5th Uruguay could qualify, so your statement about almost failing to qualify is nowhere near the truth :p As my beloved Edmund Blackadder would say, Have you ever been to Earth?
Ohhhh, and for about 10 years Brazil's worst place in the FIFA ranking was the 2nd spot. So...

I watched the second half of Costa Rica-China. My god :D

Any team honored to lose 3-0?
Brazil didn't face danger of missing WC finals??
Their worst place for 10 years was 2nd spot in FIFA rankings???

I would have asked the same Blackadder question to you if you hadn't used so many smilies :)

Well, winning against costa rica and china wouldn't give me so much joy...
But,yes, we have to look ahead...
Btw in the japan's match the refree mistakenly had canceled a goal of japan...so they got a draw I think...Every team can be effected by idiot referees..:(

That's the point Barbi!
Turkey was not the first nor the last team ever to suffer from idiot referee decisions. The funny thing is, I think without these stupid refs and argueable decisions football would lose much of its magic. :s

There you go... :hotjump:
The ref for the Turkey-Costa Rica match has been announced as Coffi Codjia... frooooooommmm (brace yourself)... Benin!
Now how many people in the world know of a country named "Benin"?!
And how many people in Benin know of the word "football"?!

This referee was picked for the African Nations Cup semi-final between Senegal & Nigeria (7th Feb, 2002). The result was 3 red cards... Players were trembling in frustration as the final whistle went. And quite naturally, just like the Korean hero, this super-ref has never ever before managed a World Cup match!

Wait, there's more...
His linesmen have been chosen with the same profound care and concern for quality of football:
Ladies and gentlemen...
(drum roll please)
Mr Dramane from Mali!
and
Mr Mudzamiri from Zimbabwe!

Let football lose ALL of its magic, we want "normal" referees!

Ivy,there are and have been always mistakes because we are human but I don't feel like thse give any magic to football..Football's magic is goal and good play...:)

It is.... THE IRON MAN!!!! :p
And dear Barbi, everything is disgusting for you as long as I don't put a Cartman avatar there, so I'll pretend I didn't hear you :D

AND

Kozak Ivan...

...although your open display of respect for the pink glass is thoroughly appreciated,

1. It is a sacriledge to worship the glass publicly
2. It is forbidden to look at the glass at nights

However,

1. Your extremely-creative artistic effort
2. Your adorable historical tie with the glass
3. And the fact that the glass displayed is only a resemblance of the true glass

have convinced our sacred commitee to allow the prevalence of your signature.

Thank you for making an exception with me. I can humbly assure you that I never look at my signature at nights. May the pink glass bless you and provide you with milk whenever you need it.

ps: I adore you for seeing so clearly why I didn't put an identical copy of THE pink glass here.
