Good luck to Turkey !!

Oh well. Costa Rica deserved that draw.
Why do the players have to prove each time that when things start to turn bad they lose they heads? Grrrr
Let's hope Brasil will kick CR butt, like 2-0, so Turkey only has to beat China in the Asian derby :D ;)

No,costa rica didn't deserve a draw,they deserved a win..
They were very unlucky and if would had some luck it would be 5-0 or smt..
I am terribly angry to the coach senol gunes...
I listened the comments of him after the match and I think he is just a pathetic son of a bitch...He is definately blind..

We played terrible.
We deserved to lose.
I have become very angry at the start of the match when I saw that Hakan was the only forward.
I think Hakan and Senol Güneþ have a sexual relationship with each other.

The linesman worked for Turkey. He had given 3 dangerous positions offside although they were onside.
With Senol Güneþ as a trainer we have no chance.
They have crushed us.We couldn't even pass a ball after the goal.
He should have made the needed changes.
It's a big luck that we have got a draw.
Why he doesn't start with Ýlhan? Offfffffffff offfffffffffff.

Well, I fear that the Brazilians are gonna give the match to CR..... not mentionally maybe, but by sending out the B-Team. The yellow card- and all the starplayers arent gonna play, I think.

China wants to score at least one goal against us....

Sorry, guys, I think we`re outside this time. See those guys again in 4 years....

We still have this typical turkish desease of looking at any match after the 80. minute as if its already over. 10 years ago we got up to 3 goals in our asses during the last 10 minutes, at least now its only one.....

:( :( :(

No need to go mad... This is the capacity of our team, and it wouldn't have increased too much with another coach. We will beat China by at least two goals, and Brazil will defeat Costa Rica... And we will make it through to the second round to hopefully meet Belgium :)

Dear Barbi, the coach is part of the team! This is the team representing our country there in Korea, and even if they lose all their matches we should still be supporting them for the effort they put in. Yes we could do better with a better coach, and we could do better with a better defensive line, and a couple of better strikers would do, a better playmaker would certainly help, and a better keeper would come in handy. Halamýn býyýðý olsaydý amcam olurdu. Repeat: This is our team, they are trying to do all they can within (and sometimes beyond) the limits of their capacity. Please do not be a part of the idiotic media venture on this issue. After all, these assholes would have declared Senol Gunes a hero if we had beaten Brazil with the same tactical decisions and with a better referee.

No my friend..I simply don't agree with you...
I haven't say we need better players we just needed a coach who could give some system to this team and who would have some control over the footballers...(exp. fatih terim..)
I remember you even said that "who would listen this coach after looking to his face?"before the world cup..
We have very good players and I am sure that they played below their capasity...I think it is because of senol gunes and the missing system, wrong substitutions and so on..
I am pretty sure that the players trying to do their best and because of that I didn't blame the players..So I am not a part of that idiotic media...
But that idiotic media is right blaming the coach..If we won the brazil match that idiotic media may make him a hero but you know very well that I always said that sonol gunes is very poor and he will ruin all the things..I said all these before the world cup..
I would be very happy if I came wrong unfortunately....

Now isn't this the standard line of our stupid media? Each and every "sports analyst" in Turkey speaks along these exact lines. Let me tell you the reason: They think they are smarter than you and me, they think they can boost their paychecks by flaming one single person (Senol Gunes) who obviously lacks the skills to manage a world cup team. After all, these assholes hope to make premium over a bet in which they have no chance of a loss. I repeat once more: Senol Gunes is part of the team. Like all other parts of our national squad, Senol Gunes needs improvement. Now tell me something, have you seen anybody on earth who can improve by millions of people swearing and cursing from thousands of miles away? And have you heard of any national team changing their manager in the middle of a World Cup tournament? Both answers are certainly no, so why torture yourself with something you can do nothing about? I'm afraid you've been somewhat contaminated by our beloved "sports analysts", or you would be putting as much blame on the players and supporters as on Senol Gunes. Let me tell you, these "sports analysts" have half the brain Senol Gunes has. They may save their payrolls by pointing out a scapegoat, but in the process they are risking what little chance our team may have left to proceed into the second round.

This is our team's capacity. It's been pushed beyond limits many times, and this has caused us to overestimate the talent of our team. What did Fatih Terim manage to do in the European Championships? Did we play fine football under Mustafa Denizli's management??? And not too long ago, we watched our talented team play the Slovakians, it would take a miracle (not merely another coach) to improve that game! The French too had high expectations for this tournament. They were the defending World and European champions and they had every right to expect success. Today, France has been eliminated without managing to score a single goal, but all their supporters were applauding their team after the Denmark match. And I'm pretty sure no one would be flaming Lemerre alone tomorrow.

This is our team's capacity. Most of the European squads have their own style of football. What is the Turkish style? Counter attack? Wing play? Physical football? No... Extreme dependence on fate, extreme involvement with the referees decisions, and simply "iman gücü".... these are not enough for a team to achieve sustainable success. All our players have enormous skills, and they have got the experience to advance at least to the semis. But, as luck would have it, we the Turks can take no collective action, unless it comes to defending our lands against invasion. We cannot even arrange a dinner at a fish restaurant when it comes to collectivism! Therefore, as a team, we need way more than a better tactician to meet expectations. Therefore, as a nation, we need to discover the benefits of synergy, of teamwork, of how to blend the skills of individuals into a sound collective effort.

Until then, this is the capacity of our team, and we have to live with it.

Well, firts I agree these sport analysis are stupid and vs vs...But I haven't mentioned anything to change a coach..He wouldn't be given a chance in the first place..
Tell me what is his success?
With trabzon he gave the league to us..Even a draw was enough..
Mustafa denizli? You know all my thought about him...
Fatih terim is different..He at least have a uefa cup in his career..
My thought is he would achieve success and would play that collective football to our national team..
Of course these are all my thoughts..

You say that senol gunes is a part of the team..Yes unfortunately he is the brain that gives the commands..
But what I am trying to say that his low capacity is pulling down the team's capacity(which is high)...That is what you say our team's capacity is this...
But if he wouldn't be in charge our capacity wouldn't be pulled down by him..
That is very clear..And even that idiot and stupid media you mentioned can see this...That's why thay are flaming senol gunes.
(Of course they must do it without cursing and swearing)

Until then, this is the pulled down capasity of our team, and we have to live with it...

PS.:That media saw all these when senol gunes was came in duty and critised him..But then he has been given a chance and we hardly qualified from the groups...We played very badly through the group stage and again he had the chance...
He should have improved himself at least he should have given a system to the team...You and I and whole turkey know that he is not the one to give motivation to the team because he doesn't have the charisma and the leadership abilities...
Unfortunately I don't have quotes of our dialogs but I am pretty sure that you remember of our critics about him and the team in our dürüm meetings which were exactly the same as above...
Anyway you are right that we have to live with it but it's not in my hand or control...When I think it I go mad...I can't help..
It will pass by time...

PS.2:Our media can be not all but mostly idiotic and stupid but most of the world's media critised our coach too...Wrong substitutions,no system vs vs...

PS.3:Lemerre have been heavily critizied after the first match and will be critizied after eliminating...I know it from my sister..I am going Paris thursday to see my sister and I'll see the french atmosphere there..The crowd there applauded but it is not same in paris and won't be..

Yes Ivy you are right...
As you know I was sooooooooooooooo angry to the ref that I completely acted like a fanatic...
Brazil indeed deserved to win so did costa rica...

Ok with everything you said. I have to correct your assertion on the issue of Lemerre though. I didn't say that people will not criticize Lemerre. I said they will not criticize him "alone". The players will get their share too. Just like it should be with the case of Senol Gunes...
I believe Senol Gunes is a superior coach when compared to Lemerre (Lemerre couldn't produce a goal with such an awesome squad). And I believe Senol Gunes is superior also when compared to Mustafa Denizli. And I also believe Senol Gunes worked at least as much as the players during this tournament. Maybe he was the only member of the team who fulfilled beyond the potential. This is why I can't stand the level (and quality) of criticism Senol Gunes received, especially when I compare it to the reaction received by Lemerre or Denizli.

Let's say our team has yet to learn to play like a team. The actual capacity of the Turkish national squad will always remain below the potential capacity that can be achieved, unless we manage to discover synergy.

Ivi, the fish restaurant example was specifically intended for your interest ;)
I still feel guilty of going mad and bumping your spine all around on the way back

And yeah it was quite painful but you seemed so mad that I didn't dare disturbing you :D But please don't feel guilty because it makes me sad. My spine is fine now anyway :)
