I'm finding that out the more I browse online. Seeing practice amps, single 12 and dual 12 combos in the 4+ thousand range is enough for me to have to change my undies. Thanks for the heads up, though, man. While smaller shops can occasionally offer a real bargain, the consistant buying power of larger stores would be more likely to offer better deals on a regular basis and mainly thats what I'd be after when buying new gear. Surely they'd be having blow-out sales for the end of the financial year, yeah?
Well, AFAIK Mesa Boogie is one of those brands stores never do deals on unless they are desperate to more them. The cheapest I've seen a Dual Rec at Billy Hydes is 4095 AUD, and they are 4695 AUD to begin with, so hardly a significant saving.
ENGL is expensive too. Invaders 100 heads go for 5 grand new usually, sometimes you get 'em for 4 grand on sale though, so basically from really expensive to just expensive
HOWEVER.........I have gotten amazing deals on guitar strings at Billy Hydes.
I once got over 50 per cent off strings there, twas amazing
