I don't think they're being serious. Demolition just doesn't sound like Judas Priest to me. It's boring. I liked it one time when I played it, but most of the time when I put it on it's just sub-meh annoyance. It might help if it wasn't supposed to be a Priest record.

I'm 100% serious. I've had this opinion for a while now (which could probably be proven by a text search on this forum).

It's a better record than people credit because everyone has a beef with Tim Owens.

Painkiller has the title track and maybe 2-3 other songs that don't try to emulate Painkiller. Otherwise it is shit.

Painkiller is a bit burnt out for me. It has its appeal but I've listened to it a lot. A lot of the songs on it just feel a bit forced, a bit like all of their later work really. I really don't like the German Painkiller clone bands and albums either.

There are some interesting extra tracks on their re-releases. I had never heard "Prisoner of Your Eyes", "Race With the Devil", or "Turn on Your Light" until those releases came out, but I consider them to be fantastic songs.

Feed on Me and Bloodsuckers are great songs. Aside from Subterfuge (which is still a better song than Heavy Duty/Defenders of the Faith), I don't dislike much about Demolition. It's a nice collection of a variety of catchy songs, some of which have a bit of a silly alt-metal thing going, but generally still quality. Defenders of the Faith is a total bore for the final third of its duration.

EDIT: I can back up Ozzman, he and I have both been defenders of the Demolition for a while now.

I don't think Painkiller is a great album on the whole, but it's not bad. However, I won't hear any trashing of the title track. It's just so over the top and fucking metal. Definitely one of their most fun tracks.

The title track isn't even the best. Hell Patrol, Leather Rebel, One Shot at Glory, so many fucking awesome songs. Super consistent album, actually.

It is a very cool song, but somewhere on the internet I've seen it said that it's basically Les Binks combining Bad Company - Feel Like makin Love with a prog rock song I don't recall.

iirc there's a Styx song that bares a good bit of resemblance to it.

They have so many songs, it's almost impossible to choose. The Sentinel, Painkiller, Beyond, Victim, Blood red skies, Exciter,Sinner, are all among my favs. Watching KK Downing shred the Sinner solo live 10 feet in front of me back in 2009 was an experience.
