Guess the Amplifier! Bet you won't even come close

It sounds terrible :p.. my first guess is that you used some sort of limiters/clippers in series with an impulse in the end.. it didn't sound nowhere near a (guitar)amp to me :p

I'm sorry but this sounds too awful to even try guessing.

Low end is really fucked up

This?

Sorry bro, but I have to agree, it does sound pretty atrocious :/

man that sounds bad..... if ever there was a time for multi band compressing the low mids... this is it.

haha the responses are awesome..

here is the answer:

Guitar > Firepod > Cubase > 3 Q's maxed with a mid boost on one > Line out > Zenith VCR > some old 6 hr tape that had blues brothers on it > back into cubase > cab model.

We basicly overdrove the tape on the vcr.. Don't ask me how we ended up recording things with a vcr then overdriving it... it was a long night.

we did it again with less gain and it got rid of the horrible noise but im too lazy to find the clip.

btw.. this has to be the most retarded thing ever.

Lol, interesting technique for guitar sound! Not so bad.
Anyway my Line6 Spider with the Framus 2x12 cab and a LDC mic sounds soo similar. :D I can't record a decent tone out from it . But for practicing it's fine.

found out the slight compression and characteristics the tape adds to the sound is slight but noticeable.. ran a few mixes through the vhs deck and it made it warmer and somewhat fuller... interesting
