SLIPKNOT Drummer To Join SATYRICON For U.S. Tour - Oct. 5, 2004
SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison will join Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON for their upcoming headlining U.S. tour, which is scheduled to kick off December 2 in San Francisco, CA.

The never-ending saga of SATYRICON drummer Frost's inability enter the U.S. due to heightened homeland security has united Satyr and longtime friend Joey Jordison for this three-week run of dates.

Satyr has questioned touring possibilities in the U.S. "Frost's Visa to enter the States case has made everything extremely difficult for us and there have even been times I've thought to give up on touring America," he said.

"I'm just very glad that we have a new tour lined up," he continued in a statement. "I think all of our fans stateside will agree that SATYRICON deserve a better chance to establish the band and our style of music we believe in than, more so than we've had so far. I think our music, our effort and all the people who believe in SATYRICON in the U.S. want us to succeed and Joey Jordison is a good example of that. I never had to convince him that touring with SATYRICON would be 'cool.' It was rather a question of overcoming the practical obstacles with Joey being a key member of a very successful band. His enthusiasm and skill is exactly what SATYRICON needs to raise the spirit in the camp. I have looked for drummers over here and most of them are afraid they can't match Frost's level of drumming so they pull out before we even get started with them. Joey and I have spent a lot of time making sure he is well prepared; and it is nice to be able to fulfill the wishes of all the fans I talked to on the MORBID ANGEL tour who wanted to see us play in America. SATYRICON is coming back!"

AHHH!! THE IRONY!!

lmao, now that is funny. I would have been much more like "WHAT THE FUCK, THIS IS A TRAVESTY" about two years ago.

I actually still like Volcano. Rock and Rollish BM (whether it be true BM or not....), kind of like Darkthrone but more sludgy with some slower stuff. I find it to be pretty catchy and enjoyable.

Does anybody besides pathetic trendmongers really give a shit about Satyricon anymore? I may as well wipe my ass with Volcano. Likewise for Rebel Extravaganza. They need to hurry up and die.

yes, groovie that's it. Last Barathrum is Rock and Rollish too that neither hurts.

Let BM outside one second, back to Satyricon' usa_drummer, I however don't complain, as when Satyricon play here there's Frost on drums.

Same here.

From what I've heard, Joey Jordison is actually a pretty good drummer.

Really though, if the guy can play their music and they know each other then why shouldn't he fill in for them? If I was going to slate them for something, it'd be the hopeless music itself.

Personally, I only really enjoy Satyricon's first two albums, and a couple of their EPs. Never really cared for their new stuff, although I find the first ten seconds of the opening track on Volcano to be amusing.

It's a bit lame having him on drums but as GoD said, if he can play the music well and he's apparently friends with the band, then why not? Yes he's in two fucking gay bands with fucking gay fans but it wouldn't bother me too much unless he's shit at filling in for Frost and brings along all his cunt faced fans. I'm not huge on Satyricon, their album Nemesis Divina is awesome but I've not really got into much else of theirs. No doubt all Jordison's fans will "love" Satyricon now...

Joey's a mediocre DM drummer... not bad, but not even in the same realm of existence as Frost. I'm sure they'll be playing even more of their half-assed (Volcano) material, for the kiddies and whatnot, and I'm sure that's the only reason Satyr figured he could get away with it. Though for all the exposure him and Moonfag (where BM bands go to die) are gonna get, he couldn't possibly care less.

Expect a night of grim, bleak, cold, tr00, supreme necrotic Faggotry, I say.

I've seen it all now. People are too cool for Satyricon.

Maybe you should all go into the dark forest and masterbate while listening to "Dark Medieval Times".

Maybe you should stop whining like the little bitch that you are and realize that at this point Satyricon's music sucks balls.

Yeah, to you maybe. No doubt you say that because -OMG- they are a little popular now.

I think Volcano is better than Nemesis Divina.

Fuck Off.
