BWD, you should really check out the new Vintersorg album... it has prog written all over it. Actually, Vintersorg is in this otherband called Waterfield that is basically a 70's prog rock thing (not metal) that I guess will be great. But anyway, if you want his latest ("The Focusing Blur") then hit me up on AIM.

Is it similar to "Visions from the Spiral Generator" or "Cosmic Genesis"? Cause those sorta bored me...

Whoever said that Vintersorg has become metal's Jon Anderson is right.

I might hit you up for a few tracks, though.

Other than tracks 2 and 4, that album is damn near unlistenable...

Holy shit, I thought no one would ever agree with me on that. Quintessence is soooo weak compared to the everything else they did.

It's the next logical step up from "Visions..." but it has more fury and weird spacey crap. I like it a lot, but it took some serious time to get used to.

I agree as well, though the closer on that album is quite good too.

The Focusing Blur is really an excellent album, I don't think it is as immediate as Epic was for me, but it really is good stuff, better than Visions in my opinion.

WRONG. Quintessence is Borknagar's second finest offering. Or, when thinking about it, it's probably as good as Empiricism.

Eh, no way. I'll take their other stuff over Q any day. I'm just curious, what makes you like it so much?

Disagree. I liked Epic, couldn't stand The Focusing Blur.

Well, they are two entirely different albums. And for the record, I love Epic as well.

AND - Q isn't entirely bad, Colossus and Revolt (I think that's the last track's name) are awesome.

The feeling, man, the feeling. The way the organ cooperates with the guitars, creating beautiful and timeless melodies that hits me right in the stomach region, with Vortex' incredible vocals being the icing of the cake. Almost every single thing about the album is perfect. An epic masterpiece. If I were a pretentious and cliché twat, I would've called this album "an album that defines and adds melody to my emotions, ideals and foundations in life", if that makes sense..
